BolderBlack is a more sustainable and less expensive alternative to virgin carbon black. The net effect is a ~90% reduction of environmental impact across the board when considering greenhouse gas emissions, electricity, and water usage, and at a lower price. Bolder Industries’ patent-pending manufacturing process offers petroleum-based products another life. In producing BolderBlack, they solve two major environmental problems with one elegant process—resource extraction from waste tires and the creation of a sustainable alternative to carbon black from the resulting carbon.

This $14M expansion for the second line will take Bolder Industries from 24 tons/day (10 trucks) to 60 tons/day (26 trucks). The new project is on time and on budget with nearly 70% of the equipment purchased or contracted and delivery scheduled.

Headquartered in Boulder, Colorado, Bolder Industries has been selected as the Manufacturer of the Year and holds 2 patents related to their tire pyrolysis process. The Bolder Industries Maryville expansion will add 17,000 square feet to the existing footprint.

This expansion also means Bolder Industries | Maryville will be able to offer local, advanced manufacturing jobs in the near future.
